Key Responsibilities:
– Installation: Install HVAC systems, including ductwork, refrigeration lines, and electrical wiring, according to specifications and building codes.
– Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary.
– Repair: Diagnose and repair HVAC system malfunctions, such as mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
– System Testing: Test HVAC systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards. Adjust controls and settings as needed.
– Customer Service: Communicate with customers to discuss system issues, explain repair options, and provide cost estimates.
– Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours.
– Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
– Continued Learning: Stay updated with industry advancements and participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of HVAC technical school or apprenticeship program is preferred.
– Certification: HVAC certification or licensure may be required depending on local regulations.
– Experience: Minimum of 3 years years of experience as an HVAC technician or in a related field.
– Skills:
– Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems.
– Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment and components.
– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
– Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
– Good communication and customer service skills.
– Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
– Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
– Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as needed.
– Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Work Environment:
– Indoor and outdoor work environments, depending on the job requirements.
– Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, such as refrigerants and electrical components.
