Key Responsibilities:
– Planting and Cultivating: Plant seeds, transplant seedlings, and care for crops through weeding, watering, and fertilizing.
– Harvesting: Harvest crops manually or using machinery, ensuring proper handling to maintain quality.
– Irrigation: Set up, operate, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure crops receive adequate water.
– Pest and Weed Control: Assist in applying pesticides, herbicides, and other treatments to control pests and weeds.
– Livestock Care (if applicable): Feed, water, and care for livestock, including cleaning pens, administering medications, and assisting with breeding and birthing.
– Equipment Operation: Operate farm machinery and equipment such as tractors, plows, and harvesters, ensuring proper maintenance and safety.
– Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on farm buildings, fences, and equipment.
– Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and other activities as required.
– Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
– Team Collaboration: Work closely with other farm workers and supervisors to ensure efficient farm operations.
Qualifications:
– Education: No formal education is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
– Experience: Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not required.
– Skills:
– Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks.
– Basic knowledge of farming techniques and equipment operation.
– Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
– Good communication and teamwork skills.
– Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
– Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
– Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
Work Environment:
