Key Responsibilities:
– Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements.
– Metal Preparation: Cut, shape, and prepare metal components using saws, shears, and other cutting equipment.
– Welding: Use welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding) to join metal parts together according to project specifications.
– Fabrication: Assemble metal components and structures using welding and fabrication techniques.
– Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and client specifications.
– Measurement and Layout: Measure and mark dimensions and layout patterns on metal prior to cutting or shaping.
– Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in metal fabrication to ensure they are in good working condition.
– Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
– Documentation: Maintain records of materials used, time spent on projects, and production schedules.
Qualifications:
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
– Experience: Minimum of 3 years years of experience as a fabricator or in a related role.
– Skills:
– Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication techniques.
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
– Ability to operate metalworking machinery and tools, including saws, grinders, and welding equipment.
– Good communication and teamwork skills.
– Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
– Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise and chemicals.
