Key Responsibilities:
– Installation: Install plumbing systems, pipes, and fixtures according to specifications and building codes.
– Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures. Perform maintenance tasks to prevent future problems.
– Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot plumbing system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and equipment.
– Pipefitting: Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles and shapes. Install supports and hangers for pipes as needed.
– Fixture Installation: Install and repair faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, and other plumbing fixtures.
– Pipe Welding: Weld or solder pipes and joints as required for installation or repair.
– Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
– Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to assess their plumbing needs, explain repair options, and provide cost estimates.
– Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities. Complete service reports and documentation as required.
– Continued Learning: Stay updated with plumbing codes, regulations, and advancements in plumbing technology. Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills.
Qualifications:
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training is preferred.
– Certification: Journeyman or Master Plumber license certification may be required depending on local regulations.
– Experience: Minimum of 3 years years of experience as a plumber or in a related field.
– Skills:
– Proficiency in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance techniques.
– Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
– Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
– Excellent communication and customer service skills.
– Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to stand, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.
