Key Responsibilities:
– Installation: Install solar panels, inverters, and other related equipment on rooftops and other structures according to design specifications and safety standards.
– Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections of solar panel systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
– Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair any issues or malfunctions in solar power systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
– Wiring and Connections: Connect solar panels to the electrical grid or batteries, ensuring all connections are secure and meet code requirements.
– System Testing: Test the performance of installed systems and ensure they meet quality and efficiency standards.
– Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs. Complete all necessary documentation and reports.
– Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain system operation, maintenance requirements, and answer any questions.
– Training: Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
Qualifications:
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in solar technology or electrical work is preferred.
– Experience: Previous experience in solar panel installation or electrical work is highly desirable.
– Skills:
– Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to solar panel installation and maintenance.
– Strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
– Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
– Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
– Good communication and customer service skills.
– Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 pounds).
– Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops and other elevated structures.
– Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Work Environment:
– Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
– Work on rooftops, in confined spaces, and at heights.
